The cult 90s rave shoes making a comeback this year

Blast from the past.

[T]attoo chokers, butterfly clips and a multi-coloured mix of jelly band, when it came to the final furnishings of our “going out” wardrobe, the nineties were particularly special. Give it enough time and these buried trends will become fashionable once more. The latest comeback kid? Rebooting London’s 90s rave footwear.

The “It” shoes of the season spotted on the FROW is a solid throwback to the golden age of grunge style and acid-house hedonism: think Spice Girls-era platform sneakers and Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons x Buffalo London’s cyber-goth creations to Swear London’s retro-futuristic Air Revive collection ahead of the label’s buzzed collaboration to bookmark this summer.

Of teaming up with the London-based sneaker brand Vetements designer Demna Gvasalia told Footwear News: “My idea for this collection was to make my own adolescent fashion dreams come true. I dreamt of having them, but they weren’t available where I grew up.”

Time to give your closet an injection of nineties nostalgia? Take your pick…
