With my background being fashion design, the outfit is always as relevant to me as the make up. Whenever I find a fabric, vintage piece or silhouette that inspires me, I create a full look, a full character around it and I pride myself on slowly building an archive of high quality, high concept looks, which are able to stand by themselves and tell their story. I am barely able to mix and match, but I do like that about my wardrobe. Once one character is done, clean cut, on to the next.
I used to make most of my looks myself, but my freelance and touring life doesn’t quite allow it to full extend anymore, so I’m happy to have found a hub of incredibly talented, technical and creative people I can birth a vision with. Misty Couture is taking care of my beautifully shaped and professionally crafted corsets – like the black, asymmetrical one in the shoot. The design was part of my graduate collection, which she put together in no time and sent to me to embellish.
Alexandru Plesco is another designer and tailor I recently started working with. He was in my year at uni and, dare I say, the most talented in concept, craftsmanship and pattern cutting. I’m very excited about the upcoming projects, as it’s quite hard to find people who truly understand your aesthetic.
