This cult bag of the 90s is making a comeback

It's had a high-end makeover.

[D]esigners love a good throwback. And in fashion merry-go-round news today Miu Miu is giving the bumbag (or fanny pack) a makeover. The cult 90s accessory – worn by those who favoured practicality over peacocking wardrobe statements – is enjoying a renaissance this autumn. Unsightly outfit add-on no longer – this is bumbag 2.0.

The Insta-crowd were all over Louis Vuitton’s simple brown leather style this summer, but for Resort 2018 Miu Miu’s new ‘belt bag’ is pure biker chic. And it’s the simpliest way to channel the Mad Max micro trend on the spring / summer ’18 catwalk. “The Miu Rider references cars and the glamourous uniform of car racing drivers in particular.”

The bag is formed in a graphic patchwork of signature matelassé, smooth leather and dynamic colour juxtapositions: navy and powder blue, oxbloos and sugar pink and black and racing green.
