[D]avid Gledhill has spent the last five years searching for rare vocal field recordings from the 1920’s and 1930’s and now, having painstakingly cleaned and edited these recordings, he’s gone on to build brand new songs around them, forming SOULS.
Following the death of his wife Tracey, the first stirrings of what would become known as SOULS began, with the simple impulse of a heartbroken man trying to put his life – creative and professional, but most of all personal – back together. Having performed in bands most of his life David found himself in a position different to usual: “For the first time in my life, I felt like I was making music that actually meant something. I wasn’t at any point thinking about getting a record deal. The songs were my release”.
‘Bad Girl’ is one of four beautifully crafted videos to be released and on October 12 to mark the start of the project, SOULS are hosting an immersive experience at a secret London location.
