[W]ith Solange and Björk just a couple of women who have worn Paula Knorr’s designs it’s not fortuitous that her AW17 would be inspired by strong female artists.
Hailing from Germany, the Royal College of Art graduate has been on our radar for the last few seasons but it’s her most recent collection in London – exploring musicality, fluidity and female sexuality – that’s got us in a spin.
Working with experimental pop duo MADSIUSOUVANDA, Knorr observes the fusion of sound and touch (in fact she wanted to be an opera singer when she was younger). The delicious result? Studio 54 shoulder pads, liquid silk dresses and abstract silhouettes.
Knorr has built an acclaimed list of stockists already – including Opening Ceremony in New York and Machine-A in London – as well as preparing for her NEWGEN show in September.
