Future Issue Cover Star Raye Releases “Natalie Don’t”

The Croydon pop star returns with a breakup jam accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek, retro video.

Today (10 July) singer-songwriter Raye has dropped the music and visuals for “Natalie Don’t” – the modern successor of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”.

Taken from a forthcoming seven-track music project exploring the cycle of grief,  the track is a desperate appeal to another woman to not steal her man. Speaking of the single, Raye said: “It’s about that feeling of panic you have when you know you’re losing someone. The song is beautifully hopeless because you know Natalie will do what she wants regardless.”

“Natalie Don’t” comes alongside a video which reimagines Raye as a retro starlet and sees her deliver her own, golden, guide to getting over heartbreak. With recommendations ranging from staying off social media to throwing out your ex’s clothes, it’s a must-watch for anyone who’s decided it’s time to break things off with their quaranbae.
