MVP of the week — Featuring Mizuno and House of Sunny

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Sure, it may be Easter, but what we’re all really excited about is the upcoming four-day weekend, and that extra hour of revitalising sunlight we’ll be getting from Sunday afterwards. So, what better way to kick off the upcoming dopamine-filled next few days with some new kicks? Japanese sportswear brand Mizuno are gearing up for the release of their SS24 iterations of the Wave Prophecy LS silhouette. The new range adopts a selection of thick caged panels in both black and white respectively across the upper, piecing together portions of breathable mesh sat atop the signature sole. The new iterations arrive in stealthy all-black and all-white, alongside a softer, more casual Wind Chime colourway with the latter being treated with plush suede across the upper. The latest Wave Prophecy LS range will drop on 29th March 2024 at END., FP, Seven Store, Maharishi, and more.

Of course, every good pair of shoes needs an equally exquisite outfit to match, so House of Sunny’s SS24 has landed right on time. Titled ‘No Family Greater’, the collection is based on having the spirit to build things with the people you love and letting them inspire you. The collection features a wide range of styles – everything from preppy bombers and leather trench coats to delectable denim co-ords and sport-inspired tops. Standouts for men include tasselled, cropped leather jackets that wouldn’t look out of place on a western set, and for womenswear, a soft pink croc-effect trench takes the spotlight. The entire collection is now available to shop here

Next up, DUKE + DEXTER has also revealed their SS24 collection, immersing us in the vineyards of St. Tropez’ Provence wine region, relaxing upon wicker chairs before venturing into the fishing town itself in their campaign. The campaign showcases the Wilde Orange, Moulin and Champagne Printed Penny Loafers, alongside loafers that depict picturesque embroidered wheat fields and monochromatic mules against the stunning backdrops of St. Tropez. Titled, La Belle Vie, the collection is made up of gradual drops throughout the summer, all available here.

Finally, DKNY have announced their upcoming Heart of NY Capsule. American model and actress Kaia Gerber fronts the campaign, showcasing traditional American style with a New York edge. DKNY infuses a distinctive interpretation of its own logo for the capsule and reimagines the brand’s DNA through a range of sports-inspired pieces. In the collection, graphic varsity influences meet bold colour palettes, 90s-inspired denim jackets and skirts are reimagined for a new generation, and utility vests and quilt-stitched outerwear catch the eye alongside bombers and bucket hats. If you’re looking to add a flavouring of the Big Apple to your wardrobe the Heart of NY collection is available globally on DKNY’s website and select retailers now.
