Next up, the American bassist, singer, songwriter and all around uber-talented Thundercat is bringing his vibrancy into the clothing world with a capsule collection in collaboration with Dover Street Market’s London Flagship. Pulling from his psychedelic and manga infused style, the capsule sees Thundercat pay homage to anime, heritage fashion houses, and, of course, his beloved cat Tron. Spring Summer 2024 channels Thundercat’s love of Japanese art and pop culture with the inclusion of kimonos produced in partnership with Japanese artisans Robe Japonica alongside collegiate-style cardigans with anime-inspired Thundercat print and logo detailing. Nostalgic references continue throughout the collection, most notably seen in a red and white football shirt adorned with team badges and Thundercat’s signature logo. Meanwhile, a limited edition run of 250 holographic crew necks, made in Los Angeles from 100% cotton, alongside 170 distressed, oversized all-cotton shirts will be designed exclusively for DSM London. Drumsheds is set to host the second edition of False Idols next weekend following on from an inaugural event in 2023. The party seeks to celebrate “the ethos and ethics of queer clubbing and showcases exciting music from the queer underground and the wider underground”. April’s event will take in appearances from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sonique and Hannah Diamond. There will also be DJ sets from PXSSY PALACE, Derrick Carter, Roi Perez, CC:DISCO!, ABSOLUTE., Jennifer Cardini, FAFF and Cormac, among others.
