[L]ooking back at our most popular content it’s clear that sex has always sold. From the Top Ten Sexiest Music Videos to Orgasms on Film and the ultimate Top Ten Iconic Sex Scenes, we’ve covered pretty much all the bases. But there’s one more aspect of carnal activity that we haven’t explored so we thought it about time we go down the list of oral sex scenes on film…
The Sweetest Thing (2002)
Before Bridesmaids there was this naughty romcom starring Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair. There was a whole host of hilarious scenes in the film but this particular case of a blow job gone very wrong had us rolling in the aisles…you won’t ‘want to miss a thing’…
Blue Valentine (2010)
Directed by Derek Cianfrance, this honest film simultaneously stole and broke our hearts for its realistic portrayal of a doomed relationship. The realism is what makes this oral sex scene especially memorable…that, and the fact that it involves Ryan Gosling.
The biopic tale of Linda Lovelace’s rise to fame after the meteoric success of 1972 porn film “Deep Throat”. In this scene Linda demonstrates her ‘skills’ on camera for the first time, with Adam Brody’s porn actor character being totally unprepared.
Rose McGowan stars in this dark teen comedy where the members of an exclusive high school clique accidentally kill one of their members. Always in charge, even in the bedroom, Courtney Shayne gets the guy to first lick her popsicle (literally) before she returns the favour.
Monster’s Ball (2001)
Halle Berry won the Academy Award (the first black woman to do so) for her performance in this romantic drama focusing on woman who falls for a widowed prison-guard after the execution of her husband. One of her many great performances is this portrayal of ecstasy.
In The Cut (2003)
Meg Ryan and Mark Ruffalo took the leads in this steamy thriller, where a teacher has an affair with a detective despite suspecting him of murder. Though we couldn’t find a decent clip, Mark Ruffalo’s epic cunnilingus scene deserved a mention, lasting two whole minutes and making us all shift in our seats.
Ace Ventura (1994)
Ace gets a special ‘reward’ and receives it in his own signature style in this 90s comedy classic.
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)
Mary Steenburgen plays a housewife having an affair with Johnny Depp’s Gilbert Grape in this coming of age film. This particular scene is memorable for its awkwardness as much as its hotness.
Scary Movie (2000)
The first in a series of spoofs on the 90s/early noughties horror genre contained this classic blowjob scene where Anna Faris’ character is taught that the act is similar to sucking on a tootsie pop, resulting in an uncomfortable end for her boyfriend.
American Pie (1999)
The film centring on the sexual awakenings of a group of high school students has become a classic and Tara Reid’s exeprience of a ‘tongue tornado’ undoubtedly deserved a place on our list.
